POLYESTER ACCELERATOR (549-0050)
It is suitable for use in standard orthophthalic and special purpose (heat resistance, chemical resistance, etc.) isophthalic, isophthalic/special glycol, bisphenol A based unsaturated polyester resins for all redox curing systems. With this feature, it has an extensive usage area such as hand lay-up, spray applications, polyester cast artificial marble and mortars, paint systems, centrifuge and filament winding applications.
It is a standard, cobalt-based metal salt solution. Since it is a solution of low concentration, this minimizes dosage errors that may arise from the application and facilitates mixing with polyester. Users preferring higher cobalt concentration should use our 549-0055 product. It is used between a proportion of 1% and 5% depending on the ambient weather conditions and unsaturated resin. Users can change the proportions to increase the gel time in hot weather conditions and decrease the same in winter. However, the reference values in our polyester technical bulletins should be taken into account.
